  		Thank you for your interest in Christian education. Shades Mountain Christian School was founded to assist Christian parents in their responsibility to train their children within the biblical worldview to grow spiritually, academically, physically, and socially for a life of service to Christ.  We have been serving the Christian community in the Birmingham area since 1974, and through these years we have been able to invest in the lives of students and families. This is an incredible responsibility and privilege that God has called us to and blessed us with.

It is our desire to provide an environment that is safe, loving, and conducive to accomplishing the school’s vision. Our vision is to equip and empower young Champions for Christ…young men and women who will be change agents for the Kingdom of God and servants in the community of men. It is our desire to partner with parents to raise up a generation of inspired, transformed, truth-based, and mission-minded young people who know what they believe, why they believe it, and how to live it out in love.

The school does not replace the home or the church. All three should be complimentary, which means that home, school, and church should be in agreement with biblical philosophy and teaching. Therefore, the school partners with born again, Bible believing, Christ honoring parents in the education of their children. It is a requirement that at least one parent has personally received Jesus Christ as his or her Savior and Lord.
