Additional Honor Societies

In addition to the National Honor Society we have the following Honor Societies and Service Clubs available for students.

Math Honor Society - Mu Alpha Theta
The purpose of this organization is to provide recognition and encouragement to those students who enjoy and excel in mathematics, to foster interest in math competitions and math related events, and to expose students to potential academic scholarships in mathematics. Membership is available to high school students in grades 10 through 12 who have completed four semesters of college preparatory mathematics, achieving a 3.5 GPA out of a 4.0 scale in mathematics. Members must have achieved an overall GPA above a 3.0. Further information about membership can be obtained by contacting the Math Department Chair.

Key Club
While not an Honor Society, the Key Club is an important element of student leadership development and recognition. The Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students and is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of America. It is a student-led organization that teaches leadership and builds character through serving others. Membership is open to any student who is interested in community service. Every Key Club member should be willing to perform at least 50 hours of combined service to his or her home, school, and community each year.

Student Government
High School students have the opportunity to lead their peers and give input to administration concerning school life.

History Honor Society
We are currently pursing a charter to begin this organization, the purpose of which is to proved recognition and encouragement to those students who enjoy and excel in history. The membership requirements will be similar to those for the Math Honor Society.

Science Honor Society
We are currently pursing a charter to begin this organization, the purpose of which is to proved recognition and encouragement to those students who enjoy and excel in science. The membership requirements will be similar to those for the Math Honor Society.

Quill & Scroll Honor Society
We are currently pursing a charter to begin this organization, the purpose of which is to proved recognition and encouragement to those students who enjoy and excel in journalism and scholastic publication. The membership requirements will be similar to those for the Math Honor Society.
